Tight Pants. History and Recommendations

Long before the term of feminism was introduced, supporters of emancipation had grounds for celebration: women’s jeans had hit the market long before an actual market infrastructure has formed. The only thing Levi Strauss’ cared about while creating 501, a first pair of jeans, was durability (pockets had to withstand gold ingots’ abuse) and certainly not designing a skirt alternative. Until recently, lovers of tightness had limited freedom of choice. Men were in the same losing position as femes of the 19^th century, frequently forced to wear womanish clothing, for lack of a more. Thanks Cheap Monday, hipsters of today have no shortage of a very tight pants.

Ramones’ era punks were less fortunate. Ironically, wearing women’s jeans didn’t turned them into the first crooked legs demonstrators – the skin-tight pants had already existed for centuries. Such Russian words as perestroika and glasnost became internationally recognized while hardly one will tell what does losiny means. In Europe or America losiny are known as leggins, but leggins is a broader term. Leggins may be made of cotton, or wool, or however far your imagination comes, but  so called losiny are made of elm’s leather (elm is los’ in Russian, hence the name). While Eldorado fortune-finders were flaunting Levi’s, Emperors of Russia suffered from vessel crossclamping.

Beauty knows no pain? Although it seems so, some do not agree. In search of the comfort they look askance at whatever is super slim. Actually, tight pants aren’t any less comfortable in comparison to their more cloth-wasteful brothers. Spandex makes them stretch and therefore they become suitable not only for walking or showing-off but for extreme activities as well. Associated nowadays mostly with skateboarding culture, tight pants are manufactured by a dozen of companies, such as Altamont, Emerica, Volcom etc.

How to Choose Tight Pants

To ensure that you don’t get lost in the variety, I will count several titles that stand out:

· Volcom 2x4: Beyond all doubt durability and unusual cut make them worthwhile buy. Despite I bought mine pair almost two years ago, it doesn’t have any holes or rips.

· CCS Revert Flex. Hands down, the cheapest super skinny jeans on the market. Pros: low price (bought my jeans for $19.99 on sale), great size and color selection. Cons: color loss after washing and certain bagginess (they ain’t the tightest pants, definitely).

Very Tight Pants

Should you look for ultimate tightness, I have several suggestions, too:

Be aware that very tight jeans may be less comfortable than usual.
